About Us

What We Do:

• Promote Salmon Arm as a desirable location in which to live and do business
• Support and provide services to existing/expanding businesses, (i.e. taking care of the business we have)
• Provide information and assistance to individuals and businesses wishing to relocate to or invest in Salmon Arm, as well as new Business Development (attracting new business and industry to our community)
• Sponsor local employment initiatives
• Provide assistance to projects and activities initiated by volunteer and not-for-profit community organizations
• Sponsor meetings and events to encourage public discussion of community economic development issues
• Advocacy (speaking and writing in support of Salmon Arm’s Economic Development desires and plans)
• Strategic planning (developing strategies and programs to foster economic development and prosperity in our community)

Funding

The Society is funded by the City of Salmon Arm through business license revenues. Additional funds are accessed through Federal and Provincial sources for specific projects. The EDC was formed in 1998 with funding assistance from HRDC.
